Supplements do NOT replace a well balanced diet. That needs to be said first and foremost. But supplements can most certainly be helpful. You just need to make sure that you are taking the proper ones with the proper dosages at the proper times to get those benefits.
If taking supplements, make sure you aren’t wasting your money. So many companies out there make very bold claims, many of which unfortunately aren’t justified. It’s the wild west in the supplement world with too many companies simply trying to cash in on your desires. Don’t fall into those traps!
In addition to all of that, safety is a huge concern as well with supplements. You want to make sure that the products you are taking actually contain what they claim to contain without any unintended surprises. This is especially important for those competing at an elite level where drug testing is occurring. Even if the label doesn’t list any of the banned substances, it could still contain some if not careful. Unfortunately, if you test positive for a banned substance that came from a product that didn’t have the ingredient listed, you can still be penalized for it despite it being unintentional. Don’t let this happen to you.
